Support, learn and connect

Volunteer with us
Join one of our amazing projects and help restore our beautiful wetlands, reduce our food waste and support our community as a volunteer. We’re always looking for an extra pair of hands, so if you think you could be a Food rescuers, tree planter, water testers, Zero Waste eventer, kitchen helper or composter.

Become an intern
An internship is an opportunity to be part of the WRT whānau, explore Waiheke Island and get involved in the initiatives happening here. We offer both holistic and project internships, and we welcome discussions about how our work can fit in with your studies as we host interns both on-site and remotely.

Living sustainably
Whether you are a visitor to Waiheke or a resident, life can be a little different from living in a city so we share ideas and information to help you live more sustainably and in tune with the island. We have guidance on conservation, reducing and managing waste, conserving water and connecting with your community.

Workshops and events
Food waste reduction – wetland restoration – composting – volunteering – septic tank health – water sensitive design – waterless composting toilets – honey wraps – movie nights and compost cafes are just some of the workshops and events.

Run your own event
The Sustainability Centre is a collaborative space that can be booked by groups and individuals. We run our own events here and host them for the community. We welcome everyone to make use of our facility for private and community events.
