Introducing some of our amazing volunteers

Geoff
Geoff has started volunteering for Kai Conscious team in 2019. “Volunteering at WRT lets me blend community spirit with my passion for cooking. As a Friday lunch cook, I love creating tasty dishes with our talented volunteers. It’s a joy to see clean plates every week!”

Kika
Kika has grown up on Waiheke in a family of bike people. She loves to volunteer at the hub, helping young and old keep their bikes well maintained! Kika is studying paramedicine, loves drawing and sewing!

ANZ
Teams from ANZ regularly venture out to Waiheke Island on corporate volunteering days with WRT. Their combined and ongoing efforts with WRT’s Love Our Wetlands project – involving planting and weeding – make a massive contribution. We look forward to their visits and the fun days out restoring our sensitive wetland ecosystems.

Chardy
Chardy runs WRT’s Kai Gardens as a volunteer, giving advice about growing food and creating an amazing demonstration garden in the raised vegetable boxes at the front of the Sustainability Centre. Chardy also produces seedlings in the growing tunnel that we sell to the community as part of our food resilience work.
