How does refillery work?
BYO bottles
We accept any container (not just Ecostore) as long as it is labeled with its size. We refill in standard 100ml increments for all our refill products.
Refill
We now offer refills exclusively, except for products that are not available as refills, like washing and dish powders, which we sell in bulk sizes.
Reuse or recycle
If you don’t need your Ecostore containers, we will gladly accept them! As Waiheke’s sole drop-off point for Ecostore’s return scheme we offer your unwanted bottles to our customers without containers. At the end of each month, when our return box is full, we send the overflow back to Ecostore to be recycled into new bottles.
What are septic-safe products?
Not all items from the supermarket are safe for your septic system. It’s crucial to choose the appropriate cleaning, household and personal products.
Ecostore’s range undergoes independent testing to ensure compatibility with septic tanks and greywater systems. Their products hold Enviromark Diamond and CarboNZero certifications, are cruelty-free, and GE child labour free.
What are septic-positive products?
Much like a probiotic can help you improve your overall gut health a ‘septic-positive’ product can improve the efficiency of septic tanks and grey water systems by augmenting biological action.
Plus they can also help to avoid problems like odor and clogging by helping to digest contaminants that enter a septic tank. Even better, these products are non-toxic, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly!
