Community
Engagement
Involving local schools and volunteers, over 80,000 trees have been planted since 2015.
Why are wetlands important?
Love Our Wetlands Waiheke (LOWW) is currently working to restore eight wetlands on Waiheke, each of which has unique historical, cultural and environmental value. Through this mahi, we are creating vibrant habitats where our native species can thrive.
People who walk through the sites can see and hear the changes as birds return, trees grow, and the wetlands flourish.

“We really appreciate our partnership with Love our Wetlands. At Terra and Tide we want to make a positive contribution to the environment that we operate in and through our partnership with Love our Wetlands, we are able to do this – through tree donation, planting assistance and being able to offer tree planting opportunities to our guests. It is great to know that over time we will be able to track our contribution and know that we have made a positive impact to Waiheke’s increasing biodiversity and forestation.”
